Hello VTBIRDers,

There was a GREAT EGRET along Nowland Farm Rd. in South Burlington this
afternoon. It was in the wet area about 100 yds. west of N.F. Rd. x Dorset
Street, first seen on the south side of N.F. Rd. and later on the north side.

Earlier today at Shelburne Farms, Shelburne, I encountered:

1 NORTHERN GOSHAWK (imm.)-- working northward along the low ridge between the
farm barn and dairy barn.
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk
1 Northern Harrier
3 Red-tailed Hawks
1 American Kestrel
4 Northern Rough-winged Swallows-- field near dairy barn.
1 Eastern Phoebe
other common stuff

At the boat launch in Shelburne Bay, between the ice rafts, were:

5 Ring-necked Ducks
2 Bufflehead
1 Common Merganser
numerous Double-crested Cormorants

Cheers,

Scott Morrical,
South Burlington
