Thanks, everyone, for the lead to eNature.com for bird calls! I spent an hour on the computer yesterday listening for mystery birds and I finally nailed the Black-billed Cuckoo (linked to the tent caterpillar invasion, I understand?) and Northern Waterthrush. Now I have to try to actually SEE them...but what a difference it makes to hear the songs. Phoebe nestlings on the barn, seems early this year. Female Towhee hasn't arrived yet, male is still singing away, as are the RB Grosbeaks and Hermit Thrushes. Female Oriole stopped shredding the twine so I assume the nest is complete. Will put on my mosquito jacket and try to locate it this am. Bugs are really bad in the swamp here! Shelagh Smith near Fern Lake. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
