VERMONT BREEDING BIRD ATLAS POSTING
We do intend to repeat the bird calling contest next year. We're thinking
of asking the winners to attend the VT-NH Bird Conference on October 15,
to sing their winning songs!

VERMONT BREEDING BIRD ATLAS
Yesterday, when slightly outside of our blocks
in Randolph Center we watched, for a considerable length of time, a
Bonaparte's Gull, an American Bittern and a Spotted Sandpiper. They
were all at the swimming pond at the private Lake Champagne
Campground. Fortunately, the Gull was feeding along the edge of the
pond and we had plenty of time to confirm it's markings. Never
expected to see one of those around here!
Roz, we attended the bird call contest last Saturday and thoroughly
enjoyed it. The young man from Maine was fabulous. And to see
and hear those young teenagers go to the mike and do their bird calls was
such fun. I am still smiling about the whole contest. We hope
you can continue that next year.
