Today i did a little bit of birding in the Green Mountain National Forest near Somerset Reservoir and Wilmington. Along Forest 77 Rd i had a mixed flock of warblers and vireos that included Common Yellow-throat, Black-throated Green, Black-and-white, Canada, and Magnolia Warblers. There were also Red-eyed Vireos and a Red-breasted Nuthatch. About half and hour later along forest 77 i encountered another flock. this flock contained two very brilliant Nashville Warblers, a Magnolia, Yellow-rumped Warbler, and several Golden-crowned Kinglet's. There were also both Blue-headed and Red-eyed Vireos. Warblers and Vireos are moving in mixed flocks which means.... It's almost fall!!! Taj Schottland Putney
