Some nice birds around Lefferts Pond yesterday -
34 species - with good looks at a Nashville
warbler with a fledgling, a magnolia warbler
feeding a fledgling and a family of American
redstarts. There was also a family, possibly two,
of belted kingfishers. One of the young seemed to
having a temper tantrum. A white-throated sparrow
was carrying off a huge moth.

A Wilson's snipe and two hermit thrushes were
heard.

Here at home the winter wren and brown creeper
are "re-singing" after an absence.
