Coordinate and participate in activities at the Reference Desk, Scott
Memorial Library, helping to develop standards for service delivery.  Train
library staff on effective use of knowledge-based resources.  Oversee and
participate in consulting and searching services of the Information Services
Department.  Coordinate the library's Grants Information Service, helping
clients search for funding opportunities


Full-time position [35 hours/week] with one 12- 8 pm shift per week and
approximately one Saturday shift per month.  Excellent benefits include
tuition reimbursement and 4 weeks vacation.  Minimum salary $45,000/year.


Required: Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent from
ALA-accredited library school and minimum five years' professional library
experience, preferably some experience in a academic health sciences
setting.  Preferred: Energetic, innovative, experienced librarian who is
interested in mentoring and developing library staff.  Good communication,
presentation, interpersonal and search skills.

Scott Memorial Library serves Thomas Jefferson University, its hospital and
affiliates.  Thomas Jefferson University consists of the Jefferson Medical
College, the Jefferson College of Graduate Studies, and the Jefferson
College of Health Professions.  The Library is a division of Academic
Instructional Support and Research [AISR], whose other divisions are
Learning Resources, Education Services, and Medical Media Services and the
