The requirements for this grant have been slightly changed to give more students a chance to apply.  Applicants must be doctoral candidates, but their dissertation proposals do not have to have been accepted by their committees before they apply.



Thomson Scientific/MLA Doctoral Fellowship

-          For doctoral candidates who are graduates of an ALA-accredited graduate library school

-          $2,000 to support research or travel applicable to the candidate’s study within a twelve month period

-          May not be used for tuition or living expenses



Through the Medical Library Association, Thomson Scientific supports this fellowship to foster and encourage superior students to conduct doctoral work in biomedical or health related librarianship or information sciences. The applicant must be a citizen of or have permanent resident status in either the United States or Canada.
