Taking up on Kent's suggestion to seek out some latter season
skippers, I spent an hour Saturday afternoon in search of them at one
site but without success. However, nine species were recorded, some
in goodly numbers. Cabbage White (16), Clouded Sulphur (49), Bronze
Copper* (2) very fresh looking, Eastern Tailed-Blue* (4), Summer Azure** (1),
Pearl Crescent* (1), Painted Lady* (2), Viceroy* (2), Common Ringlet (42).
* Net/Release, **Net/Release/Photograph.
It was one of those rare occasions to experience
100% netting success but alas in attempting to photograph the Painted Lady, the
camera malfunctioned, and the lady was not prepared to wait around!
Cheers,
