Hello Everyone! I am very pleased to announce that the meeting went very well. We had a pretty good turn out, and we were able to discuss a few important things. First off! We have our first Practice this Saturday the 17th from 12:00pm-2:00pm in the Patrick Gym in the Dance Studio (room M109). This practice is open to all students, (and dance instructors) and we will be covering both Ballroom and Latin dances. If for any reason you don't know where the Patrick Gym Dance Studio is, I will have signs posted leading you to the room when you walk in the door where the bus drops you. There are also signs that say dance studio in the gym. At the meeting we talked about the fact that this a new club, and so we are very open to your suggestions as far as what you would like to see done. A couple people mentioned performing for others, as well as having our own dances that we hold. At the meeting we also showed a few clips from the video Burn the Floor, to give people an idea of how amazing Latin dancing and ballroom dancing is. We also discussed officers, and who would like to take part in helping to run the club. If you are interested in helping to run the club, or help out by being more involved than just coming to practice, please let me know. Also, if you don't know, we have a website where you can check out all the events going on with the club, as well as out in the community. check the website out at www.uvm.edu/~sass Tonight (Friday 16th) from 8pm-11pm at the Second Floor club downtown there is a Latin Night. there will be a quick lesson at the beginning and then it is open dance. You can dance or just watch. Either way it's a lot of fun. There is also a Ballroom Dance event Saturday evening. from 7:30-11pm. There are also lessons in the beginning that you can do. check the website for more details, or e-mail me if you have questions. Hope to see you guys at these events.
