The delightful weather beckoned and I could not resist an hour and a half of butterflying hoping to encounter something unusual. No luck but the exercise was worth while not forgetting the 10 species of butterflies at two sites. They included: cabbage white (16), clouded sulphur (40), orange sulphur (1), Eastern tailed-blue* (1), Aphrodite fritillary* (1), meadow fritillary* (8), pearl crescent (31), common ringlet (1), monarch (1), long dash** (2). * Net/Release **Net/Vouchered Of interest, at least 3 turkey vulture and 2 Eastern bluebird.
