   The Lake Champlain open waters forecast 

   Tonight: South Winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves around 1 foot. 
   Thursday: Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest 10 to 15
   knots by evening. Waves 1 to 2 feet. A chance of afternoon and evening
   showers or a thunderstorm reducing visibility to 5 miles at times. 
   Thursday Night: Northwest winds 5 to 10 knots with waves around 1
   foot. 
   Friday: Northwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Waves around 1 foot.

   The Lake Champlain Lake level at the King Street ferry dock was 95.72
   feet. The water temperature was 70 degrees. the ultraviolet index for
   Thursday September 8 is a 4. This is in the moderate category.

   The higher summits forecast for Vermont and Northern New York:

   Thursday: Cloudy with a chance of showers or a thunderstorm. Highs in
   the lower to mid 60S. West Winds 20 to 30 mph. 
   Friday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 50S. West Winds 15 to 20 mph.
