It depends if you are talking about TCD or TCI? We perform TCD here
(sometimes called "handheld" or "blind") which is a non-imaging study
based only on the doppler waveforms and their direction. We have had
very good success helping our neurosurgeons to evaluate vasospasm with
these and we use the Nicolet TCD equipment.
When we purchased it, I attended their training course, which was in
Madison WI at that time, and then we later had a contracted employee of
theirs come to our facility and teach the same course over 3 days to
several sonographers and physicians. It was excellent and I think
mostly because the person teaching it was so good. Her name is Mary
Powell, and she is one of the "pioneers" in the field of TCD. I do not
think she is with Nicolet any longer, but I'm sure someone on this list
knows how to reach her.
I would also like to know how to contact Mary to see if she is still
doing this because we would like to have her come back again and educate
some additional staff.

If anyone does have contact info for her, can you please e-mail it to
me directly? Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a training facility for TCD exams? Our laboratory

currently has an outside contractor for TCD studies, but would prefer
to
keep them internal. Also, can anyone recommend equipment for these
tests?
