sbs 10/30

todd said my setup would bust
at the very rivet that it did--
two thirds to the top, and lincoln
peak had me limping on up, under
bluebird skies and scatterings
of beech leaves dropped in rings.

no mind. no mind on to lift-hut
to scavenge for parts: an abandoned
fire extinguisher mount, flypaper,
the guts of some digital wind-meter--
but downunder: wire scraps, busted
tiestraps, and finally: a beatup locker

with one nut/bolt fingerloose enough!
what luck! slipped in, it took
me back to the ridge to look down
spillsomethingother: all creamee deluxe,
peelaway, soft and springy goodness--
it's always gravy that makes it good!
