Thought this might interest some. Kent http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/nhc/ The Northeast Natural History Conference will be held at the <http://www.ogs.state.ny.us/visiting/cultural/ConventionCtr/intro.html>Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, NY on April 20-21, 2006. The conference is a forum for researchers to present current information on the varied aspects of natural history for the Northeastern United States and adjacent Canada. In addition to updating colleagues on current research, the Northeast Natural History Conference can serve as a forum to identify research needs, foster friendships, and rekindle interest in natural history by bringing people with diverse backgrounds together. The program includes a keynote speaker, paper and poster sessions, an illustrator's gallery, book market and a banquet. Attendance at the last conference in 2004 was over 300 people, with 92 oral presentations and 54 poster presentations. We expect this year's Northeast Natural History Conference to be an even bigger event. Kent McFarland Conservation Biology Department Vermont Institute of Natural Science 27023 Church Hill Rd.
