The Consumer Health Committee is planning to offer the CE class "Reference
Rx: Case Studies in Consumer Health," on January 30th at the UMDNJ Robert
Wood Johnson Library of the Health Sciences in New Brunswick.  For those 
who
are interested in Consumer Health Information Specialization at Level I or
Level II, this class has been approved by MLA as a Category A class.  At
least one Category A class is required for the certification at either
level. 
 
This is an interesting "hands-on" class, part of which asks participants 
to
search online for information to answer actual consumer health reference
questions and to share their approaches to such questions with other
participants in the class.   Our committee wants to thank Jackie Mardikian
who was instrumental in arranging for this class, and Kerry O'Rourke for
graciously allowing us to use the electronic classroom in their library.
