"Women Work" photographic exhibit and opening reception, Vermont State
House, Montpelier

"Women Work" Photo exhibit
        March 8 - 31, 2006
        Vermont State House Cafeteria 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday

        This is a collaborative exhibit of the Vermont Women's History Project of
the Vermont     Commission on Women and Mary Claire Carroll, photographer.
            "Women At Work 1800 - 1984" - sponsored by the Vermont Women's History
Project, this exhibit was produced by the Vermont Division of the American
Assoiciaton of University Women. The photographs in this exhibition
represent Vermont women's daily work and accomplishments in the home, on
the farm, in industry, education, medicine, politics, in the arts and in
non-traditional occupations.  The exhibit is on loan from Karen Madden.
            "Women Helping Women" - photos by Mary Claire Carroll  "I began "Women
Helping Women" as       a way to recognize the work women do, either paid or
volunteer, that improves the lives of Vermont women and their families.
The exhibit both honors their work and educates the community about the
issues facing women in Vermont during the late 1990's and the early part of
our new century".
