   The Lake Champlain open waters forecast:

   A Lake thunderstorm advisory is in effect today:

   Today: Winds becoming north at 5 to 15 knots. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
   occasional showers and scattered thunderstorms in the morning, then
   showers likely in the afternoon. Visibility between 3 and 5 miles at
   times in any rain. 
   Tonight: North Winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves 1 foot or less. Showers
   likely. Visibility around 5 miles in any rain. 
   Friday: North Winds 5 to 10 knots. Waves 1 foot or less. A chance of
   showers, reducing visibility to around 5 miles at times.

   Winds and waves May be locally higher in the vicinity of any
   thunderstorms.

   The Lake Champlain Lake level at the King Street ferry dock in
   Burlington is 98.80 feet, and the water temperature is 60 degrees.

   The ultraviolet index for today is a 1. This is in the low category.

   The higher summits forecast for Vermont and Northern New York:

   Today: Cloudy with occasional showers and a chance of thunderstorms in
   the morning, then showers likely in the afternoon. Highs around 60.
   North Winds 5 to 15 mph. 
   Friday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs in the 50S.
   north winds 10 to 20 mph.
