   The Lake Champlain open waters forecast:

   Today: South Winds 5 to 15 knots. Waves 1 to 2 feet. 
   Tonight: South Winds 5 to 15 knots. Waves 1 to 2 feet. A chance of
   showers and thunderstorms late. Visibility around 5 miles in any rain.
   Tuesday: Southwest winds 5 to 15 knots in the morning, becoming
   northwest in the afternoon. Waves around a foot. A chance of showers
   and thunderstorms. Visibility 3 to 5 miles in any rain.

   Winds and waves will be locally higher in the vicinity of any
   thunderstorms.

   The Lake Champlain Lake level at the King Street ferry dock in
   Burlington was 98.75 feet, and the water temperature was 74 degrees.

   The ultraviolet index for today is an 8. This is in the very high
   category.

   The higher summits forecast for Vermont and Northern New York:

   Today: Mostly sunny. Highs in the 70S. West Winds 10 to 20 mph. 
   Tuesday: Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
   highs in the lower 70S. West Winds 20 to 30 mph.
