We will be delighted to see you when you are on campus on Columbus Day weekend. I will be out of town at that time , but I am forwarding your email to the heads of our Japanese and Chinese language programs. They will be in touch about classes to visit, seeing the Japan House and providing information about the programs we offer here.Best wishes. We look forward to your visit.Peter SeyboltDirector of Asian StudiesOn Sep 14, 2006, at 4:34 PM, Diane Donovan wrote:Dear Professor Seybolt,
I am a high school senior and am looking into colleges that offer Asian studies programs. I am planning to visit UVM over the Columbus Day weekend (October 7-9) and I’m interested in sitting in on a class and meeting with someone in your department to see if UVM would be a good fit for me.
I also understand that there is a Japanese House at Living and Learning that I would like to visit.
I have a particular interest in Japanese culture and I am currently taking Japanese at Harvard Extension School. Also, I recently visited China with a group of students from my high school this past June, which further deepened my interest in the Far East. I am very interested in studying abroad.
Do you have a suggestion of who I could meet with that weekend? What would be a good class to visit on a Monday? Who could I contact about visiting the Living Learning Japanese House?
Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,
Robin Donovan
