Hi, all -
Here are 2 articles to start your week off - please feel free to pass
them on.

Burdette SD. Antimicrobe.org: an online reference for the practicing
infectious disease specialist.
Clinical Infectious Diseases 2006 Sep 15; 46(3): 765-9.
(from the Abstract: Antimicrobe.org (http://www.antimicrobe.org) is a
World Wide Web-based version of the textbook Antimicrobial Therapy and
Vaccines, volumes I and II.....Antimcicrobe.org would be of great
benefit to physicians who treat infections on a routine basis.)
A NOTE: We did a trial of this site here at WRAMC for several weeks;
while they the ID Dept thought it was a good adjunct, they felt the
price wasn't worth the amount of use it would get. And NO, I don't
remember what the cost was (this was a year or so ago) - you could
contact my Chief, Robert Mohrman ([log in to unmask]) in case he
remembers; he will be back from vacation on Sep 28.

Bell JA. Knowledge improvement with Web-based diabetes education
program: Brainfood.
Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics 2006 Aug; 8(4): 444-8.
(Conclusion: Brainfood, a web-based diabetes education program, is
educationally sound and effective at delivering Type 1 diabetes mellitus
education to both professionals and non-professionals. Web access from
non-clinic settings can improve access to high-quality education for
learners in remote or underserved locations.)
