Look into the Midvale Studio 6 (Motel 6's new suite hotel), or the Crystal Inn. Both are near the extensive Ft Union/Union Park shopping district (Smith's, Albertson's, Super Target, etc), the former has cooking facilities, and the latter includes a terrific full breakfast buffet (bacon & eggs, belgian waffles, sausage, fruit, etc.).

Subject: [SKIVT-L] Decent off-mountain SLC ski motels ?

What's the best Salt Lake City in-town (Midvale, etc. area) sort of cheap motel for a non-rental car SLC trip ?
The Discovery Inn ($55+tax for two) and the slightly more expensive Best Western next door are on the Light Rail line (travel from the airport) and on the ski bus line (to Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude), but not within walking distance to a supermarket (from what I remember from a non-ski trip a while back).

Are there any places that are okay and near an supermarket, near the Light Rail, and near a ski bus stop ?

Thanks for any advice and help.

  - Randy
