It's been a while, but I felt that one of the drawbacks was that you could only use the SmartIdeas for free on the computer connected to the board.  We wanted all of our teachers to have access to that kind of software, so we went with Inspiration.

Finally got around to playing with SmartIdeas (free when you register a board) and it seems to me that the program is more intuitive than inspiration. Anyone used them both extensively?
