Two new grant opportunities have been posted on the Department of Education Web site. Both grants will provide funding for statewide initiatives (rather than local initiatives) in order to support all schools in Vermont. A description of each, with an accompanying link, follows:

Statewide Partnership: Learning Network of Vermont

This grant will bring support for Vermont schools in their use of the Learning Network of Vermont (LNV), an IP-based videoconferencing network that uses equipment previously provided to schools. The recipient will develop and implement a statewide support system for users of the videoconferencing system.

Statewide Partnership: Statewide Technology Integration – Phase Two

The purpose of this competitive grant is to sustain and expand support for the integration of educational technology in Vermont schools as initiated under the original “Statewide Technology Integration Grant”. The second round is intended to sustain, grow, and deepen the connections made, resources developed, and integration support provided in the first round, and to extend the impact of the effort more broadly across Vermont schools.
