Also make sure it will fit in the pack you intend to use, both blade
width as well as handle height.

No specific recommendations - just be sure to get one with a metal
blade.

Subject: [SKIVT-L] Beacon practice?

Santa was good to me this year and dropped off a new avalanche beacon
(Barryvox Pulse). As it's my only one, it's a bit tough to play with &
learn how to use.

Anyone in the champlain valley up for some beacon practice?

And I'll be off to OGE tomorrow to look for a shovel. Any
recommendations? I was looking at the BD deploy 3.

Traffic at Smuggs' was light today, with enough fresh cover to make the
Madonna lift worthwhile. This, as opposed to Sunday, where a 15 minute
lift ride brought you to 1000 vertical feet of frozen cauliflower. Then
the Sterling lift jammed (?) on tower 24, making for a long, cold wait.
