Do you have items that work perfectly well but you don't want them anymore ... and, you don't want to throw them away? Or, maybe you need something but you just can't afford it? Then here's the place to go! This Saturday, February 3, the terrific environmental group RECYCLE THIS! is sponsoring it's post-holiday "FreeMeet," where hundreds of people will be FREECycling their stuff from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Harlem YMCA (in the Little Theatre), 180 West 135 Street at Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. (aka 7th Avenue) And it's all FREE! Bring your re-usable items and drop them off so others can use them. Come and take whatever you need. From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs. You don't need to bring anything to take anything (though a tote bag might help.) Leftover items will be donated to local charities to the extent possible. Did you know that 80 percent of U.S. products are used just once and then thrown away? Why add to NYC's 13,000 tons per day of residential garbage glut? Keep the good stuff out of the landfill and have fun at the same time by participating in the Freecycle NYC community! That's Saturday, February 3 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Harlem YMCA 180 West 135 Street at Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. Please bring portable items only. Leave large furniture and other heavy items at home. To pass those along, please log on to www.Freecycle.org where they'll find new homes.
