I'm replying to my own question. I received some suggestions, but found what I had found before by putting "odds of dying" into Google. http://www.nsc.org/lrs/statinfo/odds.htm This only relates to injury, however. That search also pulled up other sites with tables comparing risk of dying from heart disease, cancer, lightning strikes, earthquakes, etc. I did give my patron some info from PubMed on communicating risks of HRT, including from Hormone Therapy Task Force, as suggested by Mary. That was helpful , he said, but not really what he wanted. Also suggested: (thanks Valerie, Rachel) "risk factors, by age" in Google, CDC, NCI Thanks to all who suggested; any more suggestions will be gratefully accepted. This one is not specific to "risk of death" Here is what the patron (Ob/Gyn) says: "can you see if you can find some article about risk and comparing risks of various treatment , drugs and everyday occurrences I would like to be able to put the risk of HRT in perspective" I've searched PubMed, MMWR, U.S. Vital Statistics, American Cancer Society, and Google. I found articles on risk-benefit analysis in PubMed, but that is not what he wants. Thanks in advance!
