There is a service at https://www.officialpayments.com that
I was looking into that processes credit card payments for taxes and town
utility bills. If you go to the site and click on "Payment Center," you
can see how it works. I believe there is no cost to the town, but there is
a "convenience fee" an individual would have to pay to the company. You
can also see what other Vermont towns use it and call them for a reference of
how they like it.
