Drive to the main parking lot at Herrick's and point your scope directly
across the river (you need a scope for this one). There are usually a
whole bunch of mallard, black ducks, the occasional shoveller and g-w
teal hanging out in front of the reeds on the opposite shore. Scope the
teal and you should eventually find the euro. The two most prominent
field marks are: 1) the lack of a vertical white line in front of the
wing, and 2) a very obvious white horizontal wing flash. The teal are
usually pretty jumpy and every so often they fly out to the middle of
the river where you can get a better view.
