Planning is well under way for the 2007 meeting of the Association of Mental Health Librarians (AMHL;  Please plan to join us in New York from October 26-28, 2007.  The conference will be based at the Nathan Kline Institute <> in Orangeburg, NY.  Overnight accommodations will be at the Pearl River Hilton (845-735-9000;, where the conference rate of $140 has been arranged.

The planned theme for the conference is "Looking Forward, Looking Back," and sessions will give us insight into the history and future of psychiatry, as well as the future of the library profession.

At this time, the AMHL Program Committee invites proposals for presentations related to mental health librarianship.  Topics pertaining to the current state and future of the library profession in the rapidly changing information landscape are especially encouraged.  However, all proposals that may be of interest to information professionals working in the field of mental health are welcome.  Poster proposals will also be considered. For those who have never attended an AMHL meeting, the atmosphere is always cozy and friendly, with great opportunities to network and share ideas.  I look forward to seeing many of you in New York this fall!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
