Hello  there!

I hope classes are going well now that you’ve gotten settled! SEEDS will be
starting
in a few weeks. Below, you will find a small blurb on what SEEDS is all about
(veterans, you can ignore this but please note that our office location has
changed).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SEEDS (Student Environmental Educators Doing Service) sends college
students, 2-3 per group, out in to the Burlington community once a week to
teach elementary
school students about the environment (in their after school programs).  The
time commitment is minimal (1.5 hrs. each week- 45 minutes volunteering at
your assigned school, the other lesson planning with your group).  We also
invite you to attend biweekly meetings to keep updated and to help in lesson
planning.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our first meeting will be on MONDAY Sept. 17th at 7:30 pm. We will meet in
the club lounge space of the Davis Center (3rd floor, turn right if coming
from the giant center stairwell, the office is lumped in with the SGA
offices.) This meeting is MUST for those who want to kick it into gear this
semester. The only way to pair you up to a school is if we meet you this
coming week.

Attached to this email you will find a volunteer application that lets us
accommodate you and your schedule better. It is not meant to scare you, but
to give us a better idea of who you are and when you can volunteer. Please
keep in mind that we work in after school programs (Mon-Thurs. anywhere from
3:45-5). If you want, you can print the attached application and either
bring it to the 1st meeting or drop it off early at the VIA office (located
also with the SGA offices.).

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact
Alia or I.

Enjoy the weekend!
