Good Afternoon Planners,
NNECAPA has partnered with the state planning associations, VPA, NHPA, and MAP, to offer you the APA Audio Visual conference series. Each state will be hosting one to two live broadcasts and then each state will have an opportunity to re-present those broadcasts with the use of a CD. Although our final schedule has not been determined for all sessions, we do have one coming up in Vermont and hope you can attend. These sessions are free of charge and CM credits for AICP planners will be offered. For more information on this first session, see below:
What: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D) for Neighborhoods, web conference.
When: Wednesday, October 3, 2007
Time: 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM, discussion to follow
Where: Vermont Law School, Map Room, Debevoise Hall
Hosted by: Vermont Law School Land Use Institute, Northern New England Chapter of the American Planners Association and Vermont Planners Association
Description: The green building movement, which focuses on the environmental quality and impact of the design, construction, and operation of buildings, has expanded to the neighborhood level. Find out how green building practices are being linked to smart growth, urban design, and public health through LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Neighborhood Development. Learn about tried-and-true practices and new techniques and tools that can improve the environmental quality of your community, making it more sustainable for the future.
Panel Speakers: Christopher Duerksen, Clarion Assoc; Bert Gregory, Mithun Corp; Walker Wells, AICP, Global Green USA; and Megan Lewis, AICP, American Planning Association.
RSVP: Space is limited, please RSVP to Paula Mangold at [log in to unmask].
*the session is eligible for AICP CM credits*
In addition, Peter Barnes, co-founder of Working Assets and author of Capitalism 3.0, will be on campus elsewhere at the same time, so participants can catch discussion with him (and signing of his new book, Climate Solutions: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly) after the web session.
Thanks!
