It explains why we are seeing early Pine Siskins, Purple Finch, etc.    
We have Pine Grosbeak, Redpolls, Bohemian Waxwings and perhaps even 
northern owls to look forward to this year.   A lack of cone and Rowan 
crops (and small rodents) foretells a southward irruption for several 
species dependent upon these crops.   Very interesting reading...
