An adult Northern Shrike just made an attempt at a bird at my window feeder!
Somebody banged against the pane and the Shrike fluttered on my window sill
for a moment. Intense image of the large head, bold black stripe through the
eye, and the energy and pattern of focused attack and flight and dispersal.
Now, 10 minutes after, the Chickadees are just starting to feed again. Such
beauty and power in this dance, Chickadees and Shrike alike!
