There is no usual, as far as I can tell.  In fact, the whole experience
is somewhat unusual, bordering on the surreal some years.  I typically
advocate the earlier-is-better line, since I have a two-hour drive to my
turkey.  
 
How does 8am sound to the masses?  I could do later, but that would be
ideal.
