Radiogenic Isotope Laboratory Technician

A full-time technician is needed to oversee the day-to-day management of a
new Radiogenic Isotope Laboratory consisting of a clean room and a Triton
MC-TIMS. The technician will operate and maintain the MC-TIMS; work in the
clean room to prepare samples, spikes, and reagents; train students,
assist visitors, and interface with faculty and other personnel; maintain
records of usage and expenses; and participate in method development
projects. Applicants should have a MS or PhD degree in geochemistry,
chemistry, or a related field, with a strong background in analytical
chemistry and prior TIMS experience. Familiarity with isotope dilution
techniques, electronics, and vacuum systems is required. Preference will
be given to candidates who have applied radiogenic isotope measurements to
problems in low-temperature geochemistry and surface processes. Review of
applications will begin January 1, 2008 to meet an anticipated start-date
of January 1, 2009. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and
