Invitation -- Vermont Premiere of Music
Within
Hi Folks,
Here is a great opportunity to see the film about Richard
Pimentel and the ADA. Richard was here as our Vermont APSE
keynote speaker in 2005. Please mark your calendars and join us
for this event.
The Vermont State
Rehabilitation Council Presents the Vermont Premiere of:
MUSIC WITHIN
The movie MUSIC WITHIN is based on the
inspiring and true story of Richard Pimentel (Played by Ron
Livingston) who was a primary activist behind the Americans with
Disabilities Act.
While serving in the Vietnam War,
Richard loses his hearing after a stray bomb explodes in his bunker.
Upon returning home, he sees first hand the discrimination towards
vets and the disabled community. He sets out to change people's
perceptions by fighting for equality and helping to begin a movement
that culminated in the passing of the American's with Disabilities
Act. This act has helped improve the lives of disabled people around
the world, including his own.
