If you are willing to run linux check out ubuntustudio (http://ubuntustudio.org/).   Or dynebolic makes a Live CD which I think you can do video editing on (http://dynebolic.org/).

If you are looking for a windows product, good luck.  I wound up purchaseing Adobe Premere Elements, which is nice because it not only edits movies, it will also do dvd authoring.
