Happy New Year's Birders, a better day for dening with the bears with this
snow storm. I had 16 species at my yard and Black ducks still on the open
water of Otter Creek. A quick trip to my folks house in Rochester yielded
another 9 species. It has been quite a while since I have seen so many
Chickadees in one yard, 52, also 7 Red Polls. Pine Grosbeaks in
Wallingford, Rutland, Forestdale and Rochester. Rock Pigeons, Starlings and
7 Brown-headed Cowbirds at the neighbors farm. Rough-legged Hawk and
Red-tailed Hawk on Route 7.
