I spotted a pair of bald eagles (breeding pair possibility?) on the eastern shore of Shelburne Pond at about 7:30 tonight (7/1).? From the fishing access they were sitting in the tallest snag in front of the hill with the fire tower on it if you are looking northeast.? A pretty good look through a scope, but identifiable with binoculars.?? Also spotted several wood ducks (4 drakes - 2 in eclipse plumage, 3 hens - 1 with 2 ducklings) and lots of mallards, some with large ducklings, some with smaller.? A couple of double-crested cormorants and canada geese hanging around as well, and lots of tree swallows and red-winged blackbirds, plus a black-crowned night heron flyover.
