On a Mac all you need is iMovie and GarageBand.

On Windows you can do this with Windows Movie Maker (free), or I would recommend spending about $90 for Photoshop & Premiere Elements (this is for a volume license and $45 of that is for the media).  Premiere is, in my opinion, way better than iMovie and that is saying a lot.

I have yet to see anything with the polish of the Adobe Elements tools in that price range.

Subject: captioning an avi file - how to

We have shot a short video in sign language for our webpage.

We would like to embed captions or at least embed an interpreters voice (I know, we should have had the interpreter speaking while shooting the movie)

Is there an easy way to do this in Windows ?

I am trying out a program called VirtualDub, but not sure of this pgm fits the bill..
