Twitter and many other such sites are open here by classroom labs aka in certain areas of the school. The general stations in the library are more restricted as an example. It's included in educational programs here through use and evaluation / comparison. Facebook, Google Images, youtube, personal email... same.

We're continually cranking up discussions on appropriate use, ethics, morals etc. Big challenges for this generation and we took the approach that denial of service won't encourage the discussions or develop those skills.
