Dell's Mini 9 is not the enterprise netbook. I've been asked by my Dell
rep to not do anything with the Minis until May when they release their
enterprise netbook which is, according to him, quite different in speed
and durability. Also, the new one will be available with Windows XP
Pro. I wouldn't waste much time with the Dells at the moment, you're
bound to be disappointed.

All my web research points to the HP 2140 as the best in class (there
isn't much info on the new Dell mentioned above). The rest are just
consumer models. The Enterprise models are image stable which is huge
if you are going to get loads of them and image them. I have the HP
2133 here in the office as well as the MSI Wind. It's not a fair
comparison, as the 2133 has the VIA chip and the Wind has the ATOM chip.
But, my first observation is that the Wind is a toy, albeit a fast toy,
and the HP is a workhorse. The new HP 2140 has the ATOM chip, so I'm
will to bet that one feels like a speedy workhorse.

Now, if we could just get Apple to build a 5x7" iPod Touch with blue
tooth (for keyboard add-ons, etc) we'd have something truly
revolutionary for education. Anyone know what LCARs is? Now, that's
what I'm talking about.

Attached is a spreadsheet that that we are using for the Asus and Dell.
I understand that they are discontinuing the Dell Mini 9 in favor of the
10" screen.

Essex Town has limited our evaluation of netbooks to the HP 2140's. We
have six in the district and we want to collect information from the
users on the laptops. Before reinventing the wheel, does anyone have
an evaluation/feedback form you are using to evaluate the netbooks?
