The Champlain Valley Educator Development Center
(CVEDC) is again offering the 21st Century Technology Teams institute this
summer. In this institute, teams of educators will learn how students can use information
technology to master 21st century skills.
- work in collaborative teams as they explore a
variety of technology topics and tools
- present what they’ve learned to the other
- use the
Understanding by Design process to develop standards-based
Each team will “earn” information technology
equipment ($600 or $900 worth per team
member—e.g., a three-person team would have up to $2,700 to spend). Teams will select a
package of equipment that will be donated to their school district for use in
their classrooms. Participants will have the opportunity use similar equipment
during the week and will decide at the end of the week which items they would
like to order.
Participants may attend the institute as a “conference”
or a “course.” In the latter case participants will need to complete assignments
and a project plan in order to earn graduate credit.
The institute is
being offered twice this summer, once the week of June 22 - 26 and again the
week of July 13 - 17. For more info and to register
