This was a subject under discussion. Any help on referenced "Best
Practices" would be greatly appreciated.

Iodoform Gauze comes in a bottle or a box. After sterile techniques are
used to take out and cut off a portion, the rest is returned to the
bottle and the cap placed on and tightened.

The question is, "Is there a 'wick' left outside the cap?" [This would
be done to possibly indicate the sterility of the contents inside the
bottle.] Opinions vary as to yes a wick is left, no it isn't. Is
there any referenced material on best practices?
 (I am just the messenger)

Checked in: Lippincott, Ovid, DOCLINE, and Google...and my mind is
gone...it must soon be Friday somewhere!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
