Went to that spot today. (Jim, the place we went that time.) Still thin cover, but just enough to be turnable without having a nervous breakdown. Was "hanging over my tails" a bit when things started looking especially lumpy. The best part was the fast ski out on the packed trail. Low angle but fast. Probably the best skiing in this area right now is at the nordic centers. I need a pair of skate skis.
