Tall waterproof boots were a necessity at Pomainville WMA in Pittsford this morning after yesterday's meltdown. A good portion of the wildlife management area is flooded.

Most of the bird activity was along the Otter Creek and in the nearby high grasses and weeds. Sixteen species were counted including four species of woodpeckers (two Red-bellied Woodpeckers!). Seven Eastern Bluebirds brightened the morning. Brown Creeper is new to Rutland County Audubon's list at Pomainville.

To date RCAS has tallied 95 species (105 species have been counted by RCAS and other observers).
