I think if 50 acres was covered with over 100" of man made snow, it would not show up in this image.

all those NC numbers are due to snowmaking. they have a ton of water and they couldn't exist without an extensive snowmaking system. This year they got record cold and blew a daoltihs of snow.

50 acres would be barely a pixel on this image.

For example, the snow depth at Mt. Mitchell, measured at elevation 6,240', was 15 inches today, according to one NOAA site (http://lwf.ncdc.noaa.gov/snow-and-ice/dly-data.php). Then there's this picture. No pink here:
