Yes, it is freaky.

On another note, during my last day at Vail (last Thursday), the resort had to close Blue Sky Basin in mid-afternoon while they removed the body of a 19 yo snowboarder who had been caught in a small slide (he was boarding alone) He was not found for several days, but no one said much because he was buming out there on his own, or rather couch surfing on his brother's couch.  

Kind of freaky that he was buried very close to where we skied the "waist deep" snow (at least we had proper avi gear despite being in a semi-patrolled sidecountry area) only a day or two later.  You just never know when its your time.

Like I kept saying, its very, very bad out there right now.
