Surprised how little activity there was at Herrick's Cove today - no sound of Red-bellied WP and very few ducks.  Osprey was sitting in tree across the river on NH side.  

 

Chickadee pair excavating a hole on a 3' high/4" diameter broken off tree right side facing and before the gate where people park - more towards entrance road.   

 

Also unidentified Buteo.  


Went N on RT 5 from Charlestown bridge to check the Christmas tree farm fields. Although ample water there, they were virtually empty except for 6 mallards.
