This morning (0820-1115) 35 species were tallied. Connecticut River
water level was up with no mud flats exposed to attract shorebirds.
Out by the island at the mouth of the cove a Merlin and Cooper's Hawk
were observed giving one another grief. There was a nice assortment
of warblers (8 spp.) but overall numbers were low.
